The makingAchange CO2 accounting is becoming a TUit workshop and continues to give students and teachers the opportunity to create a CO2 balance of their own school.
A CO2 balance makes it possible to identify the biggest drivers of emissions in school operations, derive the most effective climate protection measures from this and – as long as it is updated at regular intervals – measure the effectiveness of said measures.
The online course was developed by BOKU Vienna and TU Graz in the context of the project makingAchange and is aimed at teachers and students starting from secondary level 1 (fifth grade) at schools of all types all across Austria.
The core element of the project is an online course that the participating schools can compelete on their own. It includes video recordings of workshops, explanatory videos and other supporting documents as well as the opportunity to ask questions in live meetings. The flexible availability of the videos and the documents enables a seamless integration of carbon accounting into lessons.
